Time to Enjoy Winter in Lund
From tree lighting and ice skating to design markets, opera, and sauna baths – this year’s Vinterlund is here!
Winter Festival Kickoff
Vinterlund begins on November 28th with the traditional tree lighting ceremony at Stortorget. This year’s event features a speech by Kent Wisti and festive singing by Olof Wallberg and the female choir Korallerna. Visitors can also take their first ice skating turn on the seasonal rink.
Christmas Market Highlights
On December 6th, the Vinterlund Christmas Market returns to Domkyrkoplatsen. Approximately fifty exhibitors will offer everything from handicrafts and delicacies to beautiful Christmas flowers. Choirs and orchestras will provide additional holiday atmosphere, while the Domkyrko Forum Advent Market takes place nearby.
Musical Experiences
December is filled with holiday music from groups like Alte Kamereren, Bleckhornen, and Lunds Chamber Choir. On December 13th, Lunchlucia, featuring students from Lars-Erik Larsson gymnasium, will spread light and song from Grand Hotel’s balcony. The New Year’s concert on December 31st will showcase a string of opera and operetta pieces performed by five opera singers and a pianist.
Winter Experiences
In January, visitors can enjoy Winter Spa at Clemenstorget, booking unique relaxation time in a sauna wagon. The sauna experience includes a varied program focused on tranquility, featuring film screenings, aufguss, and guest artists.
On January 31st, design enthusiasts can look forward to the return of the popular Lund Design pop-up event, potentially with new additions.
