The S/Å Magazine showcasing Skellefteå Municipality and its vibrant community was awarded gold at this year’s Publishing Prize Gala at Berns in Stockholm.
”It feels absolutely fantastic to receive recognition for a product we are SO proud of,” says David Ekström, responsible publisher and communicator at Skellefteå Municipality.
The magazine won gold in the Visitor Guides and Geographic Magazines category. The jury’s motivation was: ”For a clean-cut guide with readable texts, down-to-earth color palette, and harmonious photography”.
The name S/Å is both an abbreviation of the city’s name and a symbolic title conveying the idea of ”sowing a seed” – perhaps to inspire potential relocation to Skellefteå.
The Publishing Prize is an annual juried competition for advertisements, digital publications, films, websites, newspapers, magazines, books, and other printed materials. In 2025, over 400 companies and organizations competed across 42 categories.
”I believe the work we’ve put into the magazine is evident in the product – from photography and texts to overall design. It’s always wonderful to receive confirmation that what we do is of high quality,” says David Ekström.
