Hajka Hiking Festival: A Unique Outdoor Experience in Umeå Region
From October 3-5, the Umeå region will host the Hajka Hiking Festival, offering a diverse range of activities for outdoor enthusiasts of all levels – from curious beginners to seasoned adventurers.
A New Way to Discover Nature
Following last year’s success, the festival will feature around 30 activities organized by 20 different partners across the Umeå region. Participants can create their own festival program by booking the activities that interest them most.
”It is a fantastic opportunity to collaborate with other actors and develop new, fun and exciting activities. We plan to organize a Single Hiking event with a taste theme together with other actors in Umeå to offer a really comprehensive experience,” says Erika Sollén, founder of PicMe.

Promoting Outdoor Life and Regional Tourism
Hajka is a collaborative effort involving tourism actors, municipalities (Umeå, Nordmaling, Robertsfors, Vindeln, Vännäs, and Bjurholm), associations, and Visit Umeå.
”In Umeå and its surroundings, there are fantastic hiking opportunities, from longer established trails to simpler, child-friendly routes. Through Hajka, we want to encourage outdoor life and public health, while strengthening nature tourism in the region,” says Johanna Palmlöf Brus, destination developer at Visit Umeå.
