Three-Year Agreement Finalized – Borås to Host Table Tennis Championships 2026-2028
The Swedish Table Tennis Federation, City of Borås, and Mariedals IK have signed an agreement to host three major Swedish table tennis championships over the next three years.
Championship Details
The agreement covers the following championships:
- Youth Table Tennis Championships 2026
- Veteran Table Tennis Championships 2027
- National Table Tennis Championships 2028
Additionally, the annual Sweden Tour tournament Söderspelen will continue to be hosted in Borås.
Key Statements
”We are very happy to expand our collaboration with Mariedals IK and Borås City. The pandemic stopped the possibility of hosting championships in Borås five years ago. Now order is restored. Being able to organize major tournaments in western Sweden again is only good for Swedish table tennis,” says Dennis Lindahl, Chairman of the Swedish Table Tennis Federation.
”It is fantastically exciting to offer the best of Swedish table tennis players – in all ages – over the next three years. Even though we are experienced in organizing both SOC and championship events, we will be on our toes to do everything we can to create the best possible conditions for top-level competitions,” summarizes Anders Nilsson from Mariedals IK.
City’s Perspective
