Höstrundan at Kinnekulle 13-14 September – A Weekend Filled with Art, Culture, and Flavors
Autumn makes its entrance in the Kinnekulle region, inviting visitors to Höstrundan – two days packed with art, crafts, building preservation, and culinary experiences in the unique plateau mountain landscape. On September 13-14, artists, farm shops, craftsmen, cafes, and restaurants will open their doors for the annual Höstrundan Kinnekulle – a tradition that attracts thousands of visitors every year.
Autumn Delicacies Directly from Kinnekulle
During Höstrundan Kinnekulle, visitors can enjoy cozy stops at farm shops and cafes featuring seasonal flavors – from fresh vegetables to freshly baked treats. Farmers’ Market in Husaby with local delicacies is a must-visit for those wanting to experience autumn’s tastes. Sunträlje Pumpors och Blommor showcases autumn’s treasures with a colorful palette of pumpkins and wreaths. Frälsegården Kinnekulle will open its garden located in an old ruin, selling beautiful cut flowers.
A Creative Autumn Experience
Höstrundan Kinnekulle offers the last chance to see this year’s sculptures at Skulpturpark Ouroboros at Smedja Therese. The forge will be in full swing, with children able to try blacksmithing. Gameprototyper allows visitors to try board games and get an exclusive insight into ongoing projects. Kulturgruppen Hälleborus will open their studios and rooms in Folkets hus in Hällekis.
Råbäck Mechanical Stone Quarry, one of the country’s best-preserved workplaces from the industrial breakthrough era, will demonstrate limestone processing. The Swedish Building Preservation Association will be on-site, discussing the 50th year of Building Preservation.
The art project ”Breaking Sound 2025 – Culture in the Plateau Mountain Landscape” will also launch at Råbäck Mechanical Stone Quarry during Höstrundan. This collaboration between Platåbergen UNESCO Global Geopark and the cultural association K.Skaraborg will feature sound artists creating a real-time soundscape using the workshop’s machinery and stonecutters.
Svenstorp Art Center is also preparing for Höstrundan Kinnekulle, featuring a unique gallery with a permanent exhibition by world-renowned photo artist Erik Johansson.
