Region Halland Elevates Art Proximity – In Collaboration with 21 Actors
Halland aims to become the ”Best Living Space” by 2030. Beyond investments in business climate and infrastructure, Region Halland is now launching the new concept Art Halland. The goal is simple: inspire more people to experience Halland’s rich art scene.
A New Collaborative Approach to Art
Art Halland is both a new collaboration model and an external platform designed to inspire both Halland residents and temporary visitors to discover art experiences. The concept connects many of Halland’s art actors through a new, shared graphic profile and a public website launching on October 2nd. The core of the concept is ”Proximity to Art”, which highlights the density of art experiences in Halland.
”It feels so exciting to launch the wonderful work of Art Halland. In Halland, art is truly close all the time and we really stand out,” says Hanna Schölander, Chair of the Culture and School Operating Committee.
Expanding Art Accessibility
Helene Andersson, Chair of the Regional Board’s Growth Committee, adds:
”Art strongly contributes to Halland’s identity, and with Art Halland, we’re opening up for even more people to experience it. This will help attract visitors throughout the year.”
Initially, 21 art institutions are part of Art Halland, including Hallands Art Museum and RIAN Design Museum. More will be added in the future. The three largest art museums in Halland collectively had over 130,000 visitors in 2024.
A Sustainable Vision
Pär Krutzén, project manager for Art Halland, emphasizes:
”This is the actors’ work. Art Halland makes visible the power that already exists and gathers it in a hub. When art is close, Halland becomes richer. My role is to ensure long-term sustainability through collaborative cooperation and an easy entry point for the public.”
About the Launch
At launch, Art Halland consists of the website arthalland.se and communication initiatives to help more people discover Halland’s art offerings. Additionally, it will serve as a tool for sustainable location and destination development, highlighting art as part of a rich cultural life throughout Halland year-round.
