An Epic Cultural Autumn Awaits in Eskilstuna!
Autumn 2025 promises to be extraordinary in Eskilstuna, featuring Eskilstuna Culture Night, the 100th anniversary of the Theater and Library, the Scandinavian premiere of the opera ”The Cave”, and an unusually diverse and rich lineup of music, dance, circus, and children’s performances.
Eskilstuna Culture Night: A City-Wide Cultural Celebration
On September 13th, Eskilstuna will transform into one massive cultural stage, offering nearly 100 free events. The evening will feature everything from Nordic folk music to local hard rock, late-night museums, art exhibitions, dance performances, workshops, and more. The night will conclude with a spectacular show by Looptok at Strömsholmen.
Theater and Library Centennial Celebrations
From September 26th to October 19th, Eskilstuna will commemorate the 100th anniversary of its theater and library. Highlights include:
- A gala evening exactly 100 years after the theater’s first opening
- A children’s 100-year celebration with family-friendly activities
- Historical lectures, author talks, music, and children’s events
- A unique opera premiere

Opera and Musical Highlights
The Scandinavian premiere of ”The Cave” will take place on October 16th at Eskilstuna Theater. Created by Polar Prize winner Steve Reich and artist Beryl Korot, the opera will feature carefully selected musicians and singers from across Europe.
The autumn also boasts an impressive music lineup, including concerts by Melissa Horn, Cleo, Jakob Hellman, Hellacopters, Greczula, and Melody Club.
