Linköping Hosts Melodifestivalen 2026
For the eighth time, Linköping will host a qualifying round of Melodifestivalen. The first competition will take place in Saab Arena on January 31, 2026.
A 25-Year Celebration of Music and Community
The Melodifestivalen tour celebrates its 25th anniversary with a mix of tour cities, including fan favorites and long-awaited returns. Linköping will kick off the tour on January 30 with a dress rehearsal at Saab Arena.
Melodifestivalen is Sweden’s largest public festival – a glittering show filled with music, community, and unforgettable moments. The 2026 tour invites the entire country to celebrate, from Skåne to Norrland.
”It feels both fun and exciting that we have the honor of starting the Melodifestivalen tour 2026 in Linköping. It was three years ago we were last there, and we always look forward to bringing the entire tour to your fantastic city. Melodifestivalen engages people of all ages, and we hope it becomes a real community celebration at the end of January next year. Linköping has welcomed us warmly before, and we are convinced it will be just as magical this time,” says Peter Uksila, project manager at Live Nation.
