528 Teams from 41 Countries Ready for Agility World Championship 2025 in Kalmar
Last Friday, registration closed for the Agility World Championship 2025. It is now confirmed that 528 teams from 41 countries will participate in the world championship, which will be held at Hatstore Arena in Kalmar from September 17-21.
”We can look forward to five action-packed days, where the world’s best agility dogs will compete for the titles,” says Ida Qvarnström, project manager for the World Championship.
Championship Details
The international championship follows strict rules, dividing dogs into four size classes based on shoulder height: small, medium, intermediate, and large. Competitions will be held both individually and in teams, with each participating country allowed to send multiple teams.
International Participation
- 16 teams representing Sweden
- Participants from Europe, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, USA, Canada, Brazil, Chile, and South Africa
- 29 different dog breeds will compete
”It is a great honor to welcome the Agility World Championship back to Sweden again, and we are truly incredibly excited! Over 200 dedicated volunteers are ready to create a fantastic experience for both audience and competitors,” says Krister Andreassen, Chairman of the Swedish Agility Club.
Event Highlights
Nearly 2,000 dog enthusiasts are expected to fill the Hatstore Arena stands each day, with an equal number anticipated to follow live broadcasts worldwide. The courses have been designed by four invited judges to test both speed and precision.

Kalmar has hosted many beloved dog events over the years, and this will be something extra special. The event will also help us make Kalmar an even more dog-friendly destination,” says Frida Petersson, Sports Event Project Manager at Destination Kalmar.
