Kalmar’s Horror Run: A Spine-Chilling Urban Adventure

Soon time for the Horror Run – which will be even darker and scarier

Kalmar’s Scariest Event Returns: Get Ready for an Even Darker Horror Run

On October 11th, the Horror Run (Skräckloppet) will return to Kalmar with enhanced scary elements, more partners, and an intensified experience along the entire course. The start and finish will be located in Kalmarsundsparken, with the main distance being approximately 6 kilometers.

What Makes This Event Unique?

Skräckloppet is an experience-based run without timing, targeting fitness enthusiasts, horror fans, and adventure seekers.

”Last year, Skräckloppet gathered around 725 participants and sold out all spots. Now we’re taking the next step – we want to reach more people, create an even stronger atmosphere, and provide participants with a greater horror experience,” says Tommy Johansson, the event organizer.

What’s New This Year?

  • More actors and partners to create greater variation and intensity along the course
  • Enhanced stations with interactive horror moments, more actors, and sound/light effects
  • Multiple start times for the 6-kilometer run: 7:00 PM, 7:30 PM, and 8:00 PM to spread out participants and increase the mystery of darkness
  • A 2-kilometer ”mini-horror run” for younger participants, starting at 6:00 PM

”Skräckloppet was a success from the first year, and we’re excited to see all the new additions. We know there’s high demand for ghost walks and other eerie events in autumn, and with Skräckloppet, we can offer an experience that truly stands out,” says Frida Petersson, Event Sports Project Manager at Destination Kalmar.

About Skräckloppet

Skräckloppet is organized by Globex Teknik in collaboration with Destination Kalmar. Their goal is to create an event that distinguishes itself in Kalmar’s landscape: a unique mix of sports and horror, challenging participants both physically and mentally.
