TV-Pucken Finals Set to Take Place in Kalmar: A Celebration of Youth Hockey
This week, young hockey players from across Sweden will gather in Kalmar, accompanied by their leaders and families. From October 30th to November 2nd, the annual TV-Pucken finals will take place, a tournament with a rich history in Swedish youth sports.
Tournament Overview
TV-Pucken has been played annually since 1959, targeting 15-year-old girls and boys. This year, the event will be hosted at Hatstore Arena in Kalmar, organized by Småland Hockey Association and Kalmar HC, with matches broadcast live on SVT.
”We are extremely proud and happy that TV-Pucken is being played in Småland this year. Kalmar HC has worked for a long time to secure this event. With a new arena, great commitment, and excellent cooperation from Destination Kalmar and Kalmar municipality, we now have the best conditions for a successful TV-Pucken final,” said a representative from Kalmar HC.
Tournament Details
- Approximately 180 boy players and 160 girl players will participate
- The event is expected to attract around 3,000 overnight guests
- Estimated tourist economic turnover: approximately 14 million SEK
Event Highlights
The final week will feature intense matches showcasing future hockey stars. Highlights include:
- October 29th, 7:00 PM: Opening ceremony in Kalmarsalen
- October 30th: Quarter-finals for boys
- October 31st: Quarter-finals for girls and placement matches for boys
- November 1st: Semi-finals for girls and boys
- November 2nd: Bronze and Final matches for both girls and boys
