Kent Tribute Concludes the Year at Fristadstorget
Destination Eskilstuna announces that the New Year’s laser show at Fristadstorget will conclude with music from the legendary Swedish band Kent. The first part of the show will be set to music by Otto Nilsson, winner of ”New Year’s Song 2025” with his track ”Zero Hour”. The final segment will feature a selection of Kent’s musical repertoire.
A Musical Journey and Local Pride
The band experienced a brief but intense reunion in March 2025, performing six sold-out shows at Stockholm’s 3Arena. Many Eskilstuna residents made the pilgrimage to the concerts, creating a widespread ”Kent fever” across Sweden. Local citizens have repeatedly expressed their desire to honor the band, and now their music will take center stage in their hometown during a spectacular laser display.
Show Details and Performance Schedule
The performance will seamlessly transition between two acts: the first featuring local artist Otto Nilsson, and the second showcasing Kent’s music. The laser show, created by Eskilstuna company Laser Image, will be projected onto City Hall, connecting both the city and the band’s legacy.
