Daily Schedule Ready for Winter SM Week in Umeå
The daily program for the Winter SM Week in Umeå from March 25-29 is now complete. During five packed days, Swedish championships will be decided in numerous sports across venues throughout the city. This marks the third time Umeå will host the event, offering both familiar disciplines and exciting new additions.
Event Highlights
”We are happy to present the SM Week’s daily program with a wonderful mix of sports. We are also working full-time on accompanying activities to enhance the overall experience for visitors, participants, and residents,” says Henrik Vilhelmsson, local project manager for the SM Week in Umeå.
Key Details
- The event will take place across multiple venues including Umeå Energi Arena, Bräntberget, Curling Hall, Nolia, IKSU Climbing Hall, Bowling Center, Väven, and Red Barn Arena
- Third time Umeå has hosted the SM Week (previously in winter 2014 and summer 2023)
- New addition: Snow bike – a sport similar to alpine skiing, but done on a bicycle
- Begins March 25 with cross-country skiing at Stadsliden
- Stadsliden will host the most competitions – 15 different sports
Sports Lineup
Returning sports include curling, ski mountaineering, shooting sports, and ju-jutsu. Classic disciplines like cycle trial, bowling, and ski orientation will contribute to the event’s characteristic diversity. Interestingly, the cultural center Väven will host arm wrestling and dart competitions.
Unique Entry Concept
The entry ticket is a hat, which grants visitors access to all arenas and the opportunity to experience all sports throughout the week.

SM Week is one of Sweden’s largest recurring sporting events, held annually in different locations across the country. It brings together Swedish championships for the National Sports Confederation’s member associations, organized in collaboration with specific sports federations and the host city. Sveriges Television (SVT) is the broadcasting company.
