Spring Break at Kalmar Castle – And Your Last Chance to See the Lotte Laserstein Exhibition

Spring is taking center stage at Kalmar Castle, with a program featuring activities, family days, lectures, performing arts, and new exhibitions. The spring break program is currently ongoing, with the castle open every day.

Lotte Laserstein Exhibition Comes to a Close

Next week marks the final opportunity to see the exhibition ”I, the Artist Lotte Laserstein”, which runs until February 22nd. The exhibition provides a personal glimpse into the artist’s life and work, attracting both art and history enthusiasts to Kalmar Castle.

”The exhibition has truly been well-received. Almost daily, we have visitors sharing their own stories about Lotte Laserstein. Many in the Kalmar area have sat as her models, especially as children. It has been wonderful to hear; we have really gotten to know Laserstein – she has become like a friend to us,” says Meg Nömgård, Castle Director.

Spring Program Highlights

The spring program continues with several historical lectures, including topics such as:
• Women around the Vasa throne
• Kalmar native Axel Palme
• The notorious thief Per Olof Karlsson
• A book release about Machiavelli
• A garden lecture exploring time and ideas

On March 26th, the year’s major seasonal exhibition ”Modern Guru and the Path to Artificial Happiness” will open, running through autumn.

Families can look forward to upcoming events including:
