Light Festival Transforms Skellefteå Center – Crystal Chandelier and Elk Illuminate the City
On Friday, November 7th, the public is welcomed to the second edition of the Light Festival in Skellefteå city center. The festival starts at 4:00 PM on Nygatan 36, outside Selins Optik, where a new, sparkling crystal chandelier will be inaugurated in the alley towards Estetic.
A Magical Evening of Light and Community
Participants will then walk together through the city center, via City Park, where a new light elk will come to life, and continue along Trädgårdsgatan and Hörnellgatan, both of which have received new, atmospheric lighting.
The walk concludes at Guldtorget with music and a crackling fire show near the popular light globes – a perfect ending to an evening filled with light and community.
”It feels so wonderful that we are illuminating Skellefteå center with new lighting for the second year in a row,” says Olov Mannberg from Mannbergs Fastigheter. ”It contributes to a more attractive and safer city.”

Collaborative Initiative
The new winter lighting in the city center has been made possible thanks to the Collaboration Million – a cooperative initiative between property owners in Skellefteå center and Skellefteå municipality, where both parties contribute 500,000 kronor each to create comfort, activity, and life in the city center.
