Destination Läckö-Kinnekulle Ranks Top in Swedish Travel Destinations

Destination Läckö-Kinnekulle has once again secured a high position when Swedish travelers assess national travel destinations. In the national survey ”Travel in Sweden 2025”, the destination ranked 6th out of 42 total destinations in Sweden.

”This is a clear confirmation of the tourism industry’s value and potential for our destination’s attractiveness, a great accolade to all entrepreneurs and businesses that welcome our visitors daily,” says Anna Ohlin Ek, CEO of Destination Läckö-Kinnekulle.

Survey Highlights

  • Total survey respondents: 6,672
  • Respondents who visited Läckö-Kinnekulle: 225
  • Net Promoter Score (NPS): 35, significantly above average

Visitor Motivations

The survey revealed compelling insights about visitor motivations. Notably, 35% of respondents cited experiencing a specific attraction as their primary reason for visiting – the highest percentage among all destinations studied. Marketing also emerged as a strong motivational factor.

”The survey clearly shows we are a destination travelers actively choose for its offerings and experiences. The fact that marketing plays a more significant role here than in many other destinations is a testament to our communication,” explains Anna Ohlin Ek.

Destination Strengths

Läckö-Kinnekulle distinguished itself in several key areas:

  1. Cultural offerings comparable to established destinations like Gotland and Uppsala
  2. Interesting attractions on par with Stockholm, Gotland, and Höga Kusten
  3. Exceptional hospitality and atmosphere
  4. Top 10 in nature-based experiences and family activities

Family-Focused Development

The destination has actively worked to enhance family-oriented experiences through:

  • Developing a more comprehensive family web portal
  • Increasing family-focused event development
  • Refining communication materials targeting families
  • Collaborating with tourism industry to develop family-friendly experiences

Conducted from September 1-18, 2025, the survey used web interviews with a nationally representative sample of adults aged 18 and over, covering 42 destinations.
