Winter Activities at Billingen: A Spectacular Snowy Destination
Winter Wonderland at Billingen
Winter shows its best side at Billingen. Full activity is happening at Billingen Slope, sledding hill, ski tracks, and ice rink – with cold temperatures expected to continue according to weather forecasts. Simply perfect for snow and cold lovers.
Skiing Festival Highlights
This weekend saw the Billingen Long Race – a three-day skiing festival with approximately 1,000 participants. The newest event, ”Billingen Fifteen” women’s race, was an immediate success at its premiere.
Notably, this was the first long race in Västergötland since 2012 featuring a 20-kilometer track of artificial and natural snow. This was made possible through dedicated work by event organizers and Billingen staff. The races are qualifying events for Vasaloppet and Tjejvasan, and are considered one of Sweden’s three largest classic long-distance ski events.
Sport Holiday Mountain Activities
During the sport holiday, multiple family-friendly activities are planned:
- ”Skidor hela livet” – Family race without timing
- Children’s Vasalopp – With race number, blueberry soup, and medal
- Skating Disco – With music and disco lighting
Additional Winter Offerings
In February, two cross-country skiing technique training sessions are available. Additionally, every Sunday until April 12th, IF Hagen offers a quiz walk and waffles by the fireplace at Hagenstugan.
