Skövde Breaks New Guest Night Record – Strongest Year Yet
Skövde continues to grow as a visitor destination. In 2025, a total of 245,885 guest nights were recorded (preliminary figures), representing a 7.3% increase compared to the previous year. This equates to 16,676 more overnight stays, marking the strongest result to date.
The positive development demonstrates that more people are choosing to travel to, stay longer, and experience Skövde and Skaraborg.
”This is a win for the entire Skövde. More visitors create jobs, strengthen the local economy, and bring more life to the city throughout the year,” says Mats Olsson, CEO of Next Skövde.
Broad Appeal Driving Growth
The increase reflects a wide-ranging demand, with both leisure and business travelers contributing to the growth. Skövde’s location, range of activities, and expanding event calendar make the destination attractive year-round.
”The investments in Billingen and the development of Billingehus have made Skövde more attractive. This attracts both private and business travelers, which we clearly see in the increase in guest nights,” says Mats Olsson.
